Origin country: Norway
Production company: NRK
Original title: Bergtatt av Everest

The first descent on skis from the world's highest mountain.

After four years of intensive training, on 16 May 2006, atop Mount Everest, Tormod Granheim and Tomas Olsson put on their skis. They had conceived the idea of skiing down the mountain after a period spent on the slopes of Chamonix - and a successful descent of South America's highest peak, Aconcagua. But only Tormod made it down from Everest. Five hundred meters from the summit, Tomas plunged into an abyss, making Tormod the first person ever to descend the world's highest mountain on skis - a feat sadly overshadowed by the loss of his dearest friend.
